Overview of Solutions

•Updated website located separately from the Pinellas county jail section.
•New logo design alongside a more welcoming portrayal of the facility.
•A stronger emphasis on helping individuals get back on their feet.
•Addition of interview clothing rentals, cell phone rental, temporary mailbox usage and address, Wi-Fi usage,  computer lab.
•Classes on job preparation, such as resume building skills, interview practice, and more.
•Digital screen on near by bus stops that display item availability and upcoming classes alongside the bus routes.

Three Directions

Picture
I was looking for simplistic designs that could possibly symbolize shelter, growth, resilience, or a pathway to success. The leaf represents new growth, while the ellipses represent stepping-stones and a path to success.

Final Logo and Mood Board

Picture
I began working with the first logo iteration, trying out different shades of greens, different combinations, relative size of typeface and logo, etc.

I eventually moved forward with the original green color to symbolize growth in a light and calming way. The faintness of the green could resemble a sense of peace and a lack of urgency. I also decided that the green by itself needed another contrasting color to complete the logo as a whole, so I changed the house color into a gradient consisting of an earthy brown color.

I finally settled with Berlin Sans FB as my logo's typeface, due to the rounded typeface and its light-hearted portrayal.

Ideas for PSH to Implement

Rentals
•Plan to receive cell phone donations from the city or anyone. New Residents may rent one but must return the cell phone at the end of their time at the Shelter.
•New rental clothing closet provides numerous professional attire.
•Residents have the option to rent out a mailbox and use the facilities address for applying to job applications.
•A new computer lab allows users to use a computer within a certain time limit (yet to be determined).
Residents who don’t comply with the rules of each item will not be able to rent/use that item for a certain time period. Residents must go through a few classes of their choice before being able to rent stuff.
Classes Topic Ideas:
•Parenting
•Life Skills
•Walk-wise Pedestrian Safety
•Jobs for Life
•Read To Rent
•Interview Prep
•Verbal Communication Prep
•Resume Building
•Computer Training
Opportunity
•Residents may work within the facility if possible, jobs such as clerical desk, janitor, computer lab monitor, etc.
•Pinellas Safe Harbor work with RebuildingTogether, giving residents the opportunity to learn building / carpenter skills while helping rebuild for those in need.
•Other opportunities include working with Metropolitan Ministries to work in the kitchen/ deliver food.

Visualization of Solutions

Picture
Interior Wall Design
This decorative wall piece would act as a potential interior wall decoration for the main facility. I used illustrator and photoshop to create the visualization.
Website
This would be the potential new website home for the Pinellas County Safe Harbor tab. I chose a design that would exemplify Pinellas Safe Harbor's ability to provide opportunity's for a successful life and a friendly atmosphere. I chose Weebly to organize a layout for the potential website!

Digital Bus Stop
This digital bus stop would have a Pinellas Safe Harbor infographic section below the main bus map functionality. This could display numerous things including upcoming course dates, item availability, maps, address and phone numbers, or a link to the website. I used illustrator and photoshop to create this mockup.

Exterior Improvement
This is a 3D model of the current facility alongside some changes and a new idenity of the exterior. I decided it would be best to replace the red color with a lighter color such as the beige shown here. I also placed two separate glass logos on the facility to show what the facility is representing. I used Blender to create this 3D Model.

Grayscale Mockup
This is a grayscale mockup. This could be a potential example of the logo located  within a professional setting, such as an office. I used photoshop to create the visualization.
